Join Rika for a vibrant and empowering Tahitian Dance Workshop!

In this two-hour workshop, you’ll explore the foundational movements of Tahitian dance in two distinct styles. The first hour focuses on Aparima, a slower, melodic dance style similar to Hawaiian hula. These graceful movements express poetic stories rooted in nature, offering a beautiful way to connect with the elements through motion and meaning.

After a short 15-minute break, the second hour will turn up the energy with ‘Ote’a, a dynamic drum dance characterized by fast-paced hip movements set to the rhythmic pulse of traditional Tahitian percussion.

This class is open to all levels and all ages! Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pareo (sarong) if you have one. Don't forget a large bottle of water and a sweat towel—this is a full-body workout that will leave you glowing!

About your instructor Rika:

With over 35 years of experience in Tahitian dance and more than 20 years of teaching, Rika brings deep knowledge and infectious passion to every class. She lived and performed in Tahiti at the renowned Tiki Village Theatre, competed in Heiva I Tahiti, and has taught and performed worldwide—on major cruise lines, in Bali, and across California. Her warm, grounded teaching style makes everyone feel welcome and inspired!
