"UNITED WE SHINE"
The theme we have chosen to represent in this year's parade is "United We Shine". We will be promoting the ideals of unity, compassion, peace and freedom for all! We hope to have a float built with a large sun and we will be wearing and using gold props and accents to accentuate the SHINE theme. All are welcome to join!
DETAILS FOR DAY OF - JULY 4TH PARADE
Hello “UNITED WE SHINE" Parade Friends!
We’re thrilled to have you join us for this year’s July 4th Parade! We’re working to make this piece larger than life, and your presence brings it to life. Below are some key details to help you plan:
👕 T-Shirts & Tanks
T-shirts are HERE. You can pick them up at the Ojai Art Center Gallery on:
-
Wednesday, July 2nd | 9:00am–10:00am OR Thursday, July 3rd | 6:30pm–7:30pm
If those times don’t work, shoot me a text at 805-707-4443 and I’ll find a way to get them to you!
✨ Parade Attire
Our theme colors are black and gold. Go ALL OUT—the bigger, the better! Think:
-
Gold beads, feathers, face jewels
-
Shiny fabrics, tassels, anything festive that sparkles. We’ll also provide gold pom-poms for you to wave!
⏰ Call Time
-
NEW Arrival time: 9:00am sharp at staging area on Ojai Ave between Country Club Dr and Maricopa Hwy. The parade entries are lined up in order so just walk down the street and find us at #33. I have attached a diagram to give a better idea of the set up.
-
Parade Start Time: 10:00am
-
We’re Entry #33 of 67, so we’ll likely step off around 10:30am

🚛 Flatbed Riders
If you’re riding on the flatbed truck:
-
Please stay seated for the duration of the parade (no jumping on or off for safety reasons)
-
The truck will be staged on Ojai Ave between Maricopa and Country Club Drive
-
Look for Entry #33, a sun-themed truck with lots of gold!
💃 Walkers, Pom/Flag/Free-Style Dancers
You’ll be staged separately from vehicles for safety at the Matilija School area. The location will be near the flatbed. Once you arrive to the area you’ll easily be able to find the group. Just look for all the gold!
🗺️ Parade Route
We’ll begin at Country Club Drive and continue down Ojai Avenue to Park Road.
After we finish, we’ll take a group photo, then you're free to enjoy the festivities!
-
The flatbed will return to Matilija Jr. High School, with an optional drop-off near Rainbow Bridge.
-
Please note: No additional stops can be made with the truck.
🎒 Travel Light
Space on the flatbed is limited and you don't want to walk with anything heavy—bring only essentials. A water bottle is a must, but please leave bags and extras in your car if you can.
👫 Invite Family & Friends!
We’re excited to open up the opportunity for family and friends to join us in the parade! They’re welcome to walk or free-style dance alongside our group. While we’ve passed the T-shirt order deadline, they’ll fit right in as long as they wear black and gold. There’s no shirt/participation fee for additional guests—just bring their joyful spirit and festive flair!
We’re so excited to dance, shine, and celebrate with you—thank you for bringing your beautiful energy to this piece of unity, joy, and freedom!
For any questions the day of feel free to text/call Isha at 805-707-4443!

Each participant will receive a “United We Shine!” t-shirt or tank top, which you are welcome to style and accessorize however you like! We will arrange for shirts to be distributed at various times in the days prior to the parade.
You can choose how you'd like to be involved—no dance experience necessary! We have several fun options:
-
Learn a simple, repetitive Flag or Pom Dance (pom is less strenuous than flags)
-
Walk with us in the parade (no practice needed just show up!) OR
-
Ride on the float (no practice needed just show up!)
We’ll provide a rented prop for you to use and practice with at parade flag and pom rehearsals. There are 2 rehearsals for pom and flag dance groups held on June 19th and 26th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Ojai Art Center. You must attend at least one rehearsal to participate in the pom or flag dance groups. For both groups it is just a simple 4 - eight count choreography that repeats over and over so it is quite simple and easily learned by anyone!
